Fall Musical Exam

As part of our Performing Arts curriculum, our class will be watching the musical Come From Away for our Theatre exam. This Tony Award-winning musical tells the true story of the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, and the extraordinary kindness shown to nearly 7,000 airline passengers who were unexpectedly stranded there following the events of September 11, 2001. Through uplifting music, dynamic storytelling, and an ensemble cast, the musical explores themes of compassion, resilience, community, empathy, and the power of human connection.

Please note:

  • Come From Away is recommended for general audiences but contains discussions of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, moments of emotional intensity, and some mild language as part of the historical context.

  • For this classroom viewing, we will skip or mute any content that may not be suitable for middle school students to ensure the musical remains appropriate.

  • If you choose not to allow your child to participate, they will complete an alternative exam in another supervised setting.
