Theatre 1

Course Description: Theatre 1 introduces students to the fundamental concepts of theatre through a combination of practical exercises and theoretical study. Students will explore various aspects of theatre production, including acting, stagecraft, and theatre history. Through hands-on activities and collaborative projects, students will develop their creativity, communication skills, and understanding of the theatrical arts.

Clorox wipes, Tissue Box, Hand Soap, GermX (We use a lot of crafting supplies so anything to help keep us and our room clean.)

Fall Musical Exam

As part of our Performing Arts curriculum, we will be watching the 2020 Broadway filmed performance of Hamilton for our theatre exam. This award-winning musical tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s Founding Fathers, through a creative mix of hip-hop, R&B, and traditional musical styles. The film presents themes such as perseverance, leadership, and the founding of the United States in an engaging and educational way.

Please note:

Hamilton is rated PG-13 for language and mature themes.
For this classroom viewing, we will skip the section involving Maria Reynolds to ensure the content remains appropriate for middle school students.
If you decide not to let your child participate they will do an alternative exam outside the room.
